🌍 PrimeTrivium International Maths Challenge Prep
Build Confidence. Sharpen Reasoning. Compete Globally.
The International Maths Challenge (IMC) is an online global mathematics competition designed for primary and middle school students worldwide, with a focus on confidence, mathematical thinking, and problem-solving ability. The IMC provides online maths challenges and preparatory content for students across different ability levels.
At PrimeTrivium, we help students prepare for the IMC with a calm, structured, and joyful approach. Our goal is not just to help your child attempt the competition — but to help them think clearly, solve confidently, and enjoy the beauty of mathematics.
Because great math learning begins when a child says:
“Wait… I think I can solve this.”

🧠 About the IMC Format
The IMC includes the Two-Round Open Challenge and the Online Simulated Maths Challenge (OSMC) for selected schools. The Open Challenge has Round 1 / Prelims and Round 2 / Finals, while OSMC is a single-round challenge for selected schools.
For Grades/Years 1–6, the IMC test has 20 multiple-choice questions with a duration of 45 minutes. For Grades/Years 7–12, the test has 26 multiple-choice questions with a duration of 60 minutes.
That means students need three things:
Accuracy. Speed. Calm thinking.
And yes — we train all three.
🔢 What Students Learn
Core Math Skills
- Number sense and arithmetic
- Fractions, decimals, percentages, and ratios
- Geometry and visual reasoning
- Patterns and sequences
- Word problems
- Data handling and logical thinking
- Basic algebraic reasoning
- Problem-solving strategies for non-routine questions
IMC Test Skills
- Reading questions carefully
- Avoiding silly mistakes
- Managing time under pressure
- Eliminating wrong options
- Handling negative marking carefully
- Staying calm in an online proctored test environment
The IMC uses negative marking, so smart decision-making matters. Students must know when to solve, when to skip, and when to double-check.
🧭 The PrimeTrivium IMC Prep Method
1. IMC Readiness Assessment
We begin with a short diagnostic test to understand the student’s current level, accuracy, speed, and comfort with contest-style questions.
2. Personalized Study Plan
Every child gets a simple preparation roadmap based on grade level, strengths, weak areas, and target score.
3. Concept Classes
We teach the important math foundations clearly — not by rushing, but by helping students understand the “why” behind every method.
4. IMC-Style Practice
Students practice questions that feel similar in spirit to the challenge: concept-based, reasoning-heavy, and slightly tricky.
5. Timed Mock Tests
Mock tests help students experience the real pressure of the IMC format before test day.
6. Review & Improvement
After every mock, we review mistakes, identify patterns, and create a focused improvement plan.
7. Final Test-Day Strategy
We prepare students for timing, confidence, online test behavior, and question selection strategy.

🏅 Recognition & Awards
In the IMC, students who rank in the top 20% in Round 2 of the Two-Round Open Challenge or in the OSMC are treated as winners. Students scoring between 80–95 percentile earn the title ELITIST, while students scoring 95 percentile or higher earn the title CHAMPION.
At PrimeTrivium, we prepare students not only to participate, but to compete with confidence and aim for recognition.
